Sherwood, AR

Roundtop, Sherwood, AR, originally uploaded by M. Shane Glass.

I found this pic by M. Shane Glass over on flickr. Does anyone know the history behind it? On the list to go photograph soon. How about David, Linda? Any scoops?

Kay Tatum sent me the following: Hi Pris! I was amazed to see a picture of the old Roundtop Service Station on your site. When I was a little girl it was between our house and my Grandmothers. Both of my parents purchased their gasoline from that little station. It was a DX station and they would give you top value stamps with your purchase, check the oil, wash the windshield--the works! I don't know when it was built but I would think during the 1930's. It was vacant by the mid 1960's. Let me know if you find additional information about it. I always thought it was such a cute little building. Reminded me of the "old lady that lived in the shoe" story.

I have photographed this and will be putting it online soon. - Pris
