Sunday, I drove down to the Cadron Creek Park to photograph this cabin...the Daniel Greathouse Cabin. Was it there? No. Two dozen (at least) have copied and keep posting the wrong information. This picture is from Pat Anthony, along with the others I have posted at
Pat told me that the Greathouse Cabin is at the Faulkner County Court House. I was up there Sunday, and I am sure it is probably still there but I didn't see it or a sign, but then again, I wasn't looking for it over there.
David Simmons sent me the following:
Hello, Pris!
I saw your blog post regarding the Greathousehome and thought I'd pass this along. During a web search,I came across the same inaccurate information about the Greathouse home. The Daniel Greathouse home is actually located in downtown Conway one street behind the Faulkner County Courthouse. It currently serves as the FaulknerCounty Museum. Here's some accurate info that I eventually located:
So there you have it.....I am going to try and run back up there this Sunday and see if I can find it. I am on a mission now. :)

Just so you don't think we are crazy, here are some of the inaccurate, misleading links. Now if we are from Arkansas and we can't find it easily, what is someone from out state supposed to do?

I, too, went in search of this cabin last month since it was the home of my great, great, great grandparents. While it is clearly seen adjoining the property of the courthouse, I was disappointed that there did not appear to be any sign identifying it and even more disappointed that it was closed on Friday when I was traveling through Arkansas. Maybe next time.
